Rocking Horses -- SOLD --

I remember having one of those rocking toys as a child. I remember them being made of plastic and coming in the likes of various animals. This is the heritage to childhood dreams of the past.

Rocking Horses is a necklace made of freshwater pearls in two complementary shades, Swarovski crystals, a gold toned charm of a rocking horse (what else?!), frosted faux pearls and gorgeous cloisonne beads. I think it brings with it a certain aura of the past... What do you think?

Dorothy Fu -- SOLD --

Dorothy Fu was on a quest to visit the Wizard of Oz. She however, ended up in China. Hmm.

I had this "fu" cloisonne bead for the longest time but did not manage to find anything to complement it in the bead box. At least not till now.

Dorothy Fu is a green toned necklace with liberal doses of Swarovski crystals and cloisonne beads. It sits nicely round the neck... Are you ready to take the colour "green" on?

See below for more pictures.

A dangle drop of Swarovski crystals draws your eye too as it sits comfortably round your neck.

Has Lil Bo Peep charmed her way to you yet?

Ring of Posies -- SOLD --

As we near the end of September, I am reminded that October is fast approaching... and so is Children's Day. I did this as a remembrance of childhood delight in delicate chains and of simplicity. I think nothing much has changed. Just that I got older!

Celebrate ... is a necklace with the same colour theme and components as Satsuma. The dangle drop reminds me of fireworks, that just shoot right up high!

A simple necklace of a single cloisonne bead dangling from a gold toned chain and from which dangles a string of fiery orange Swarovski crystals.

A Celebration of Love -- SOLD --

Afternoon tea for two... just a short getaway from it all. A celebration of Love is a gold toned charm bracelet that features delightful charms to sit comfortably around your wrist. The "chain" itself is made of golden stars and mixed with mother of pearl beads. Charms that hang from it include a heart shaped "love / amour", rocking horses and a pair of golden keys with heart detailing.

Combined together, they tell the message of childhood romance where the rocking horses feature as sweethearts play their days away. Unlock the hearts with the keys... to unleash the love from within. Are you ready to let loose your emotions?

like an old english Rose -- SOLD --

Tensha beads are really beautiful, even by themselves they command attention and really draw the eyes of the beholder towards it.

I have a selection of tensha beads that I have bought but just could not bear to use for fear of spoiling the sweet beauty they hold from within. I finally took the courage to do a necklace with this large tensha bead...

In itself, it is a frosted finishing with the drawing of the old english rose on both sides. To me, it evokes memories of walking in large gardens, the likes of Butchart Gardens in Vancouver or New Zealand. Places where roses just abound under the tender loving care of the gardeners.

This particular necklace is made with pairing the tensha bead with faux bronze-gold pearls and subdued black beads.

Like a rose in bloom, this particular piece would do well adorning your neck as you wine and dine in the pleasure of the city. Simple, yet elegant... Well suited for the everchanging world of fashion.

Grace $18

With grace and poise, take flight! This bracelet features a simple blend of blue and white... And just by the closure, find a cloisonne butterfly dangling with quiet repose.

Wear this bracelet tight round the wrist and let the butterfly dance with joyous beauty with your move.

Silver toned finishing, Czech glass beads, Swarovski crystals, cloisonne butterfly, frosted plastic beads and marbled semi precious beads come together to complete this bracelet.

Autumn in New York -- SOLD --

I am a romantic at heart. And no matter how senseless and oft used the plot may be, I am likely to be watching the show in the cinema. Perhaps it is how they film it with the rich tapestry adding to the storyline, or perhaps it is just me seeing the world through rose-tinted lenses, I still like the richness of colour as portrayed in Autumn in New York.

With this piece, I tried to bring out the colours... Golden hues feature here in the single leaf drop, bronze-gold faux pearls, brown tinted Swarovski crystals and gold lined Czech glass leaves. Autumn in New York is a double stranded necklace in set in gold tones and finished with a similar shaded toggle clasp.

September Romance

It is September... and the September Romance series has just been released for sale. I would like to think that it is a delightful unabashed mix of pieces that spell the different aspects of romance. Why September?

Well... for once, my romance started in September. It was 6 years ago that we started going out. 6 years ago we decided that we would like to give 'us' a try. In these 6 years, many things have happened and we have progressed. I guess we are at different seasons of love and now marriage. So we have been married for 1.5 years... and still exploring, still learning about the intricacies of romance.

Take your time to explore the different pieces. Each piece has a somewhat different perspective. Each piece has a touch of romance. Take a peek also at the Luxury range from Ariel's Treasure Chest. That collection too, has a certain grandness about it. Like that protrayed in The Great Gatsby? See to understand.

And meanwhile, 9 days left to the end of Sale-A-Bration. See if there is any piece that catches your eye. Prices will revert back to original past 9 September.

A Fairytale Romance -- SOLD --

The centrepiece of the Romance collection.
Oh for a delightful fairytale romance! As I did up this piece my mind wandered back to the times when I had to do Shakespeare for Literature lessons. The Sec 4 text in my year was A Midsummer Night's Dream and I remember engaging in fantasy dreams of what the set would look like. Completely whimsical with roses scattered throughout, an aura of mystery, fun and romance.
I tried to recreate my mind's imagination of a fairytale romance in our local context and this came up. A fairy dangles from the end of the chain as if intoxicated with chinese wine. Frosted beads paired against bronze-gold hued faux pearls spell of luxury and the cloisonne pink beads tell a tale of feminine delight. Set in opulent gold... and finished with a gold toned toggle.
Are you ready for a time of romance?
The necklace is 49cm long with a fairy drop of 4.5cm.

Red Peonies $20

A double stranded necklace... that delights in both ways. On the inner strand, your eyes are immediately drawn towards the cinnabar centrepiece that is flanked by faux pearls and silver ball filagree. The outer strand is a silver chain which are dotted with faux pearls in a symmetric manner.

Dream of a classy night out? Old world elegance or new world charm... You define the look.

Dreams of the Red Chamber $23

A unique take on the cinnabar butterfly. This piece features a beautiful cinnabar butterfly dangling from the middle and paired with a liberal dose of mother of pearls and a smattering of faux pearls. Pink Swarovski crystals are added to the mix to create a vibrancy in colours and a different dream necklace altogether.

Helena -- SOLD --

In the mood of romance, I am reminded of Helena from Midsummer Night's Dream. To me, it evokes memories of calmness, feminity and sweet romance.
This necklace is a blend of freshwater pearls, a sprinkling of faux plastic pearls and frosted plastic beads. They all combine to form a delightful blend of purplish pink delight. Closed with a silver toned toggle.

Sweet Innocence -- SOLD --

Made very much like that of Cool Blues, Sweet Innocence speaks of the time before sparks fly. While many speak of love at first sight, I suspect for countless others, it takes time to bloom.

The cool pink and blue twisted glass beads tell of the slow and steady progression, into a blending of emotions. Pink frosted plastic beads and freshwater pearls finish up the whole look. Ends with a silver toned toggle closure.

Pair it with light pastel colours or even white for a softer look or against black to bring out the colours even more vividly. It's your choice.

Modern Romance -- gifted --

Modern Romance is a necklace that hangs gently round the neck and whose focal point is the cloisonne beads clustered with red Swarovski crystals. Coupled with Czech glass of different shapes and colours, it has a unique take on romance. None of the overly romanticised Victorian charms but yet, not that far from it. Perhaps a chinois styled romance then?

Finished with gold toned chains and toggle closure.
