Satsuma ... The Birthday Surprise

Yay! Finally can post this set up! This was something I was working on for V's birthday. It was specially requested by her husband to be done for her. So it is a limited edition set just for her. :) Was really fun doing this... what made it more fun was both husband and wife requested for Satsuma at the same time.

Heartful of Butterflies -- SOLD --

Silver foiled heart paired with Czech glass round beads and butterflies droop from the silver coloured chain and end with a lobster clasp.

Cool blues.

Lady in Red -- SOLD --

Another simple piece... Red Czech flat discs make the 'chain', yet the attention seeker is really the centre plastic beads flanked by rose coloured quartz and silver spacers.

Let it sit daintly on your hand. Unobtrusive and cheerful.

Blue Skies on My Wrist -- SOLD --

Finally had the time and inspiration to bead. Yes, I know this is a real simple piece but it kind of reflected the skies yesterday.

Cloudless, clear blue skies were seen around my area. The sun shining so strongly... Makes me dream of clear blue waters instead!

Made of silver foiled glass beads coupled with turquoise blue Czech round glass beads and finished with a cute lil heart toggle.

Deep Red -- SOLD --

Dressed with a deep red czech glass bead at the bottom, dangling from silver chains, the red flower patterned cloisonne beads are teamed with Swarovski bicones at top and some dainty faux pearls.

Simple for daily wear. And even for painting the town red.

Royalty in Black -- SOLD --

Have been busy revising Royalty for a customer. And hence, Royalty in Black is made. It's made of czech glass beads, Swarovski crystals and metal findings.

Like Royalty, there is something delicate about how it sits round your neck.

Flittering Drops S$20

Another piece I had to model to show just how it sits. This piece uses purple frosted beads linked with a mish mash of silver circles and gold chains (and some silver at the back).

The focal point is the butterfly attached with a large Swarovski drop. Apparently its a new pattern / shape they have come out with. Whatever, it is eye catching. That is what matters for me.

Pink Baubles -- SOLD --

I tried to take a nice picture of this piece the usual way I do but I felt that it simply did not show how the chains hang around your neck.

So I modelled it. And now, I am in two minds about selling it! I love the way it appears girly, feminine yet carries a flair of its own.

This piece is made with faux pearls, czech glass beads, frosted pink plastic beads and silver finished links.

Glassed Dreams S$50

Bought some pretty Czech glass beads on a previous shopping trip and have stored them aside till this afternoon. This piece features lovely Czech glass beads as the necklace mainstay and is interpersed with faux pearls.

The little something special is that the toggle clasp is in front... and from which hangs a cluster of Czech beads and faux pearls. After which hangs a circular disc of pink quartz, yet more Czech beads and faux pearls and then... gemstone-like Czech beads from silver coloured chains.

A tad out of the ordinary. It combines an air of elegance with peace and serenity... With generous chunks of defiance?

It all depends on what you make of it.

** Sunny Days **

Not that many new stuff are going to be churned out in the next few weeks as I am getting real busy at work. And doing some specially requested items. Yet, I realised that while I say that, I still squeeze out time at night to bead while seated in front of the television. So perhaps its wise to check back every now and then to see how things are.

Launching a new collection soon. Sunny Days! The teaser item from this range is Sunny Swirls... :) Its not that I am completely done with the rest of the collection of Metamorphosis or Garden Fantasies. It all depends on when inspiration strikes.

Sunny Swirls -- SOLD --

Swirls are back! This time on flat glass beads that dangle from gold chains. Very vibrant, lively... and somehow... reminding me of salsa dancers. :)

Butterfly Fantasy S$20

I am still quite hooked on to butterflies. Unfortunately, you never really see them around Singapore in real life anymore. So I have got to make do with these beaded ones.

Butterflies dangle from similarly coloured Czech glass leaves. All coated with the style of colours that changes with each view. A rather versatile piece.

White Pearls -- SOLD --

C had asked for a white based cloisonne bead design... so I kept that in mind when I went bead shopping. I found these beads and proceeded to make this pair. A few weeks' back.

The whole time through I was wondering why there was no reaction then I looked through the site. I had forgotten to upload it. Silly me.

This piece is now sold to her... :) Cloisonne beads take centre stage with smatterings of pearls.

Golden Leaves S$12

This shot is not very clear but I am into a mini bling mood at the moment (I'll retake another picture!). Golden hoops and loops from which dangle golden brown czech glass leaves and pearls. Something along the line of Flittering Wings.

New Jade -- gifted --

A simple delicate yet elegant piece to complement your outfits. Made of new jade beads and shanks, it is matched with glass pearls and metalised plastic beads. The focal point is obviously the porcelain bead right smack in the middle.

Dainty but full of elegance.

Star Light Star Bright -- SOLD --

Was browsing at the shop when I saw these cute beads. Could not help myself but grab them. There and then an idea formed. Its really like a small tribute to the usual hour I finish my beads and turn in for the night.

Star light, star bright... Stars dangle from chains while Mr Moonface charms his way under your ear.

Lemon Drops S$10

Was away chairing a retreat and a lot of people were sick! We were passing Strepsils in all the available flavours around... and well, the colours of this yellow drop reminds me of lemon flavoured ones!

Glass pearls are linked and topped with an oversized metal filagree to create this look. And to hold it all together... a pretty yellow bead hangs beneath.

Satsuma -- SOLD --

The colours of the metal flower beads reminded be of that of Body Shop's Satsuma, hence the name.

This one is a pretty piece. Vibrant and cheerful, it adorns the wrist with such delight. Gold toned rings of two sizes are interpersed between metal flower beads, flat cherry blossomed coloured glass flat discs, glass pearls and Swarovski crystals. All this being closed with a toggle clasp. Summer fun is here!

Floral Escapade S$15

A simple bracelet whose focal point is very obviously the metal flower that dangles from the middle. The chain is linked with rondelles that match the pretty shade of pinkish-purple of the flower.

Floral fun yet not too extravagant.

Harvest -- SOLD --

Glass beads are mixed with plastic ones and topped with metal filagree to form this pair of earrings. Time for fruits... the harvest from the garden.

Lily S$18

A quick one... Have a few ideas floating around in my head but have got no time to work on them. This pair of earrings dangles from the ear in light gold. Hand twisted wires hang from the hook to link up with a metal filagree... from which dangles glass pearls.

Quite the necessary item for the chinois wardrobe don't you think?

** Garden Fantasies **

It is beginning to look like Spring has come to the Bead Haven. One glance at the current bead collection I have waiting to be put together and it is certain that the next range after Metamorphosis is going to be Garden Fantasies.

Garden Fantasies is going to be all things flowery... with a touch of modernism of course. Feminine yet wearable. The first roll outs are Lavender Rose and Butterfly Garden. Enjoy. More are going to come over the next few days.

Butterfly Garden S$28

I was looking at the new beads I got and dreamed this up. Unfortunately I never had the time to sit down and finish it all. Thankfully though, there was finally some time today so Butterfly Garden can be created.

Made of two different chains, glass butterflies and beads it ends with a toggle clasp at the back. Dress up your top... just so.

Lavender Rose -- UNAVAILABLE --

Its a few more days to Mother's Day 2006 and as we are preparing for the celebrations, I did a simple piece that exudes grace. The lavender colours dance about the neck as the glass beads are paired with glass pearls and Swarovski crystals. What catches the eye is the clay rose hanging down the middle. Simple and beautiful.

Beauty in Jade $28

Almost done with working this piece out but just could not wait till tomorrow to show it to the world. I still need to end it but just because it has not been sealed I might make small adjustments to it.

Its made of Jade shanks, metal filagree and spacers, glass pearls and black beads with a couple of black agate beads.

Fruitti Tutti -- SOLD --

While doing this piece a lot of thoughts came through my mind. The colours reminded me of Christmas with Poinsettas, they also reminded me of cherries... Its a delightful mix of Czech glass leaves with two different shades of Swarovski crystals dispersed randomly between.
They all come together to lend a cheery, festive and somewhat autumn feel to this bracelet.

Toggle clasp in a slight contrast silver.

Thanks to many of you friends, visitors who have dropped by the site. Thanks too for the support. I have re-released some of the pieces previously marked as reserved because of a no-show. So if you have had your eye on something previously unattainable, now might be a good time to get it.

Aquamarine Life -- SOLD --

Black agate rectangular slabs are paired with glass beads to form the main chain. By the side, a single butterfly filagree dangles from a silver chain. All held together on your wrist by a toggle clasp.

Glass beads dominate this necklace.... from the glass fish that dangles from the drop to the rectangular purple squares that hang on the other chain. Glass pearls are paired with the squares and even a random healthy dose of Swarovski crystals to create this delightful design.

Time to go fishing... for compliments!

Chinois Fantasy -- SOLD --

Whee... I was peering into the beadbox, dreaming of some exotic, different way to use the Cloisonne beads when this necklace came about. 4 cloisonne beads sit among glass beads with an accompanying large butterfly from which dangles yet more glass beads.

Rather charming, electic and different won't you say?

Mobility S$5

When I first started out beading, I did such stuff... Small intricate items that were largely ornamental. Yet I never got down to attaching them to accessories to form useable items.

I finally did last night. And there you have it... a mobile strap. Something subtle that even the guys would not mind having it.

Made out of Swarovski crystals. Customised colours may be requested.

Bolly Holly -- SOLD --

I had fun with this piece...! The colours are princessy, full of shades of pink Swarovski crystals. And when paired with rhodium plated filaments, it blends to a unique piece just to hang from your ear.

Butterflies dance with golden brown leaves in this autumn / fall inspired piece. All dangle freely from the ear by the chains that hold them together.

I admit. I am into dangling chains adorned with beads. For this piece, a decorated bead attracts attention and is teamed off with Swaorvski crystals in close hues. Some chinois fun.

Royalty -- revised --

I had this idea running through my mind for the longest time. A double chained necklace that is not chunky but sweet and delicate.

Takes a lot of work and the May Day holiday was just right to finish it up.

A single rhodium plated butterfly with 2 crystal embellishments sits at the right side of the necklace, surrounded by chains of amtheyst coloured beads and Swarovski crystals.
