a-round

We’re still here in case you were wondering. We have been working hard to clear the orders as they come in, including a myriad of custom requests.

We have actually delisted the Ribbon ring (pictured above) for this period and instead ask that you will kindly contact us should you desire one. The reason(s) is/are simple ::- We don’t want to have a huge backlog of customised orders to clear nor for there to be a delay in you receiving your orders… so we are taking them in as we assess our order load and … whether labour is going to be anytime soon. So far, the lil girl seems content to remain inside although I’d really much rather have her out. Carrying her and her sticky older brother is making me lug 1/2 my weight around. NO FUN. And as such, the Baby Shower is still on. Guess the birth day, the birth weight and bring some (virtual) presents!

Meantime, go shopping at Sparkle Thots! There’s been a small restock today.

** You might notice that the ring pictured looks different from the original one in store. It has been lightly hammered to provide added texture and shne. This can only be done on rings made with 925 silver or 14K gold filled as the material is either ’solid’ (silver) or has a much much thicker layer (gold filled). This, as contrasted with plated materials, will not wear off the outer plating and still retain the shine.

You’d realise that it gives the item a lovely handmade feel… and is truly, unique.

tie a little ribbon

Tie a little ribbon round your finger…! As a reminder of things to do, of a reminder of the ties that bind ~ in friendship and in love. Or just as an accessory to your day’s outfit. No matter your reason for choosing this ring, we are sure that it’d bring a smile to your face.

We now have them in store. Do allow for some lead time to make as each ring is custom made upon your order, in your size and your choice of material.

If you are unsure of your ring size, check out this site for some help.

** We know that the idea is not new and that a number of jewelry sellers have their own unique take on it. And we thank you all the same for the warm reception you have shown to our version.

ribbons and bows

Ribbons and Bows

Thanks everyone for your patience! Your overwhelming reception to the new Ribbons series literally blew us away. We are really happy that you like it! :D

The earrings are already listed in store. We have them available in a couple of options (gold plating, 925 silver and 14K gold filled). Please remember to select the correct material request from the dropdown menu. Prices will vary of course.

Rings are currently on custom order only. Please email us if you would like one. We currently make a limited selection of sizes as we sought around for a better tool to ensure accurate sizing. We want you to have rings that actually fit.

The admin aside …

This series has a lot of symbolism and meaning behind it for us! I had a couple of themes playing in my mind when I was making the prototype. One was the song, Butterfly Kisses. RIBBONS just kept appearing in my mind. Ribbons too carry with them an idea of awareness and of remembering. And for one who has way too much on her mind right now, they were a quirky way to perk up the work day.

new @ sparkle thots

I tried this other style of wire wrapping the other day and am quite pleased with the results. I have plans to turn this into a pendant sort of thing but just have not got the time to sit down and work it out proper. It is quite labour intensive… but the result is rather pretty. So… perseverance is KEY.

In other news, we have changed our shop’s packaging. We thank you for your amazing support but we are now completely out of the lovely ziplock pouches. We are *still* using ziplocks to protect your jewelry (keep moisture out, prevent oxidation yaddayaddayadda) but these come in another form. Now they are packed in sweet translucent sort of bags and tagged with a lil gift tag. The reverse is blank so you can write your message on it and gift it away immediately. Of course, if you’d like, we can do the writing for you. We do have neat handwriting. Really!

Now, off to clear admin. We were out the entire day yesterday and everything’s backlogged. Eeps.

more rings for your fingers

I’ve moved on! To wirewrapping rings. Twas fun exploring the bead stash for useable stones and find new ways to use them. I think I’d be exploring the use of rondelles next in such handmade rings. The citrine ring featured up here is my second attempt.

And this lavender amethyst ring was my virgin ring attempt. I thought they worked out pretty decently? :D

These sort of handmade rings are slightly more ‘troublesome’. They don’t have adjustable ring bases so you would really need to know your ring size. That said, your ring will be custom made just for you. Pros and cons really.

I’m still perfecting them so hang in there. Do drop me a comment / email if you are interested in getting any made. I’d update you as soon as I am ready to sell! Prototypes might just go on sale at a lower price.

As for now, I’m rushing orders to send out in today’s mailrun!

Ruby Ring

Well, not quite ‘ruby’ per se. The naming came about after an afternoon of kids rhymes (you know, Tommy Thumb and friends). I fancied I had to make a ring sometime soon and this came about last night after tinkering with them beads.

Made with a rich cluster of Czech glass beads, the ring is lightweight enough yet full of flair. Perfect for the ‘pop’ of colour on long tiring days. Sits on an adjustable ring base so there’s no worry about it not fitting. Fun really! Now available in store.

And oh well, here’s the rhyme for anyone who is interested… :P

Lovers, You and Me

As promised, the shoppe has had a mini-reload. We’ve added a smattering of new Swarovski dazzlers and another two erhmm, assortments. Like the ring above. Do grab it fast. It is vintage and limited edition.

We’d be spending the rest of the day working on clearing our custom orders, packing paid orders, answering emails… generally administrative issues that need to get done pronto. Thanks for your patience.

There are just a couple more days to the end of the sale. So do hurry and get your orders in! Feel free to email us for any further information.

with these rings

Another part of my supply order has come (the way I’ve been stalking the letterbox, I think the postman is scared of me…) and have been put to good use. I’m really happy with the results and am still oohing and ahhing over them. This small collection features a selection of 3 rings (adjustable). All fitted with pretty cameos (some vintage).

I *love love love love* them to bits. I’d update about quantity and price soon. But if you are like me, and really can’t wait, email me to reserve. Limited quantities each.

Meantime, Vintage Blooms is already available in store!

EDIT :: Vintage rings are available in store too :D
