Money Talks

With the fluctuating currencies, I decided to make the Singapore dollar the main currency of the shop. Makes sense as I do my costing in the local currency and well, the calculation of the changing rates was starting to drive me crazy.

We are still open to overseas customers, will ship just about anywhere. Just that now, when you pay for your Sparkle Thots order, we collect in SGD via Paypal. Paypal would do the necessary conversions. The figures you see for other currencies on site is just an estimate. True / accurate currency exchange rates apply at the payment portal.

There, now that we settled the admin issue that was eating me up (just a little), we can move on to the picture up there.

Don’t you think it is an amazing work of art? Ok, yes, it was good money cut up but the beauty it now has is quite something. I found this image by Mauricio Alejo being mentioned at Rag & Bone. The tradition of Easter Eggs…

The common imagery of easter eggs is that of the popularised easter egg hunt. Eggs are specially decorated to celebrate the Easter holiday and hidden by the Easter Bunny for children to find. There are other twists to the story too… with one being that the egg is a symbol of new life. Just as a chick might hatch from the egg… or another string goes along the egg as a symbol of the grave and life renewed breaking out of it.

Whichever way you see it, this particular egg is a beautiful treasure to have and to hold.

Cross of Calvary -- Special Deal

Its almost Easter… and I thought it apt to do a mini series. Its not about the season as a gift giving time, but a time of remembrance.

I looked through my supplies and came up with a mini-series befitting the mood of the season. Sombre yet full of hope. Kick starting this series is the Cross of Calvary.

This simple necklace features a antique gold plated pewter (lead free) cross with light detailing on it strung on a gold plated chain. Necklace length is 16 inches and cross is approximately 1inch in length.

Busy as a Bee

The last two days have been loads of fun! On Tuesday it was a private sale with loads of laughs, followed by dinner with friends. On Wednesday it was a very productive day with fresh inspiration and awe at the wonderful loot. I have half a mind to keep everything for myself but I know I cannot. The pocket would protest.

Two In Love

I started this morning off with a long and fun slew of emails with a group of lovely ladies. It started off on wedding planning and escalated into a huge ball of laughs. But I came away having to bead something ‘lovely’. So Two In Love was done whilst replying to said emails. Its a pretty piece. Simple, sweet and to the point.

Jolene

Jolene is a pretty pair of earrings. She is made of pretty coral beads with painted motif, paired with rose pink (and rose carved) czech glass beads and matched with the silhouette of a flower.

All findings used are gold plated. Exclusively one pair only. Mismatched on purpose or request for an identical pair. Total drop, excluding earhooks, is 4.5cm / 1.75inches.

Belle

After a long journey, Belle is back. She was on-show at a retail outlet for a few weeks and has since come back home to Sparkle Thots. While she is happy to be back, she is looking for a home where she can share her adventures freely.

Belle is a pretty girl and is perfect for a young girl. She features a handmade clay doll that holds on to 2 hearts. She is lightly accented with red coral beads and silver plated filigree.
