Have been busy admiring the stash of beads I have just gotten my hands on. I love them so. Really pretty, delicate and oh so yummy. I’ve started using them already. Inbetween packing orders and answering emails that is (all paid for orders ship today!). It has been quite a month. A number of lovely treasured items have gone out of stock.

I sent them off with a tearful heart. Because I really love them. And I know there is no chance of a remake. But I guess it is for the better. Else pieces like the one featured above would have no room in the workplace. Don’t you love the soft dusty rose pink hues of this pair?!

It’s my third wedding anniversary today. And I ended up beading something subconsciously. And it shows. This mini lariat necklace came about. Made of carved river shell rose pendant, a trio of freshwater pearls, the 19 inch chain can be looped long or short round your neck.

I had roses everywhere! On the wedding invites, the church bulletins, the red packet box, the albums, hand bouquets, pew decorations, corsages… I think you get the picture. Either the fresh ones or the handmade paper variety. And the colour theme was white and pink.

The third anniversary ’stone’ is that of a pearl. 3 to signify the three years.

Just restocked the shop… and loaded this cute lil piece up. I am sure that the young and the young at heart are equally well versed with the words of the children’s rhyme. And this piece just brings back fond memories of mommy teaching the words. Except that this particular cow is stuck on the crescent moon and would not be going anywhere for a while.

Secret Garden

Beauty of Roses, part of the Secret Garden collection

The Secret Garden is a novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and was first published in 1909. It has matured with time and is now considered part of the staple in children’s literature. I remember reading it a long time ago, and being particularly taken with the idea of a secret hideaway. Where dreams come true through your own strength.

Busy as a Bee

The last two days have been loads of fun! On Tuesday it was a private sale with loads of laughs, followed by dinner with friends. On Wednesday it was a very productive day with fresh inspiration and awe at the wonderful loot. I have half a mind to keep everything for myself but I know I cannot. The pocket would protest.

Two In Love

I started this morning off with a long and fun slew of emails with a group of lovely ladies. It started off on wedding planning and escalated into a huge ball of laughs. But I came away having to bead something ‘lovely’. So Two In Love was done whilst replying to said emails. Its a pretty piece. Simple, sweet and to the point.

(Yes, yes… I know its a little pricier but trust me, its worth it. The components were expensive actually.)

Jolene

Jolene is a pretty pair of earrings. She is made of pretty coral beads with painted motif, paired with rose pink (and rose carved) czech glass beads and matched with the silhouette of a flower.

All findings used are gold plated. Exclusively one pair only. Mismatched on purpose or request for an identical pair. Total drop, excluding earhooks, is 4.5cm / 1.75inches.

Belle

After a long journey, Belle is back. She was on-show at a retail outlet for a few weeks and has since come back home to Sparkle Thots. While she is happy to be back, she is looking for a home where she can share her adventures freely.

Belle is a pretty girl and is perfect for a young girl. She features a handmade clay doll that holds on to 2 hearts. She is lightly accented with red coral beads and silver plated filigree.

All findings used are silver plated. Closes with a lobster clasp.

Althea — a set of mismatched handphone straps custom ordered as part of a Valentine’s Day present.
(Pardon the colours… the skies are unforgiving!)

For her … an affirmation ring reading ‘I love You’ all round hangs from the strap. Made of sterling silver and brushed for an aged look, it is set against a quiet fairy who hangs in the hollow alongside a blush jade round.

For him … a prayer box featuring celtic crosses on the side hangs from the strap. It opens to allow a secret message to be written and gifted. Masculine yet with a touch of romanticism.

So you see, things may appear quiet on the shopfront but the backend has been busy with custom orders! Watch for a special selection of keyrings that pay tribute to the season of love.

Little Stars, Sparkle Thot's Children's Line

Yes, it is finally launched! I have been a tad slow on the launch of the new children’s collection because, as a mother, I want to ensure that they are completely safe for children. They must be something I would give my daughter (if I had one and not a son…), or be delighted to gift my friends. And they are! Every effort has been made to ensure that they are child safe.

Most of the jewelry in this line is suited for children aged 3 and above. The necklaces generally measure in at 14″, perfect to suit lil necks. The materials used are safe and non-toxic. I have tried to minimise small ‘movable’ parts. Also with the concern of lead poisoning, Swarovski crystals used are non-excessive and do not exceed the 1gram allowance per item. Most kids by 3 would understand not to swallow random objects or put things into their mouths but if you worry, then gift your purchases to those above 6 years of age. This would minimise choking hazards.

The Little Stars range is a mix of simple and girly fun. See them to love them. You might be tempted to try them on yourself!

Belle and her sisters love to hang out together. Hence, they all share similar tastes in fashion. Shanice and Heidi are fashioned in a similar way but with different components. A customised order for a customer’s daughter and her niece, I am sure this pair will find their way to the little girls’ heart.
